Stephen Johnson
Lead Pastor

A note from Stephen
I am blessed with a “Samuel testimony.” As the son of a pastor, I grew up in a home of Christian love and forgiveness. My faith as a child focused on what Christ saved me to: safety and blessing. As an adult, I came to appreciate what Christ has saved me from! In the victories, struggles, joys, sorrows, and failings of my life, the Lord has never abandoned me. As I look to the future, I rest in the promise that He will be the same today and tomorrow as He has been in the past. In the light of His grace and mercy toward me, I can think of no other response than to worship, delight, and serve Him all of my life!
In a quick synopsis of my life journey: In 1984, I received my BA in Bible and Missions from Puget Sound College of the Bible, in Seattle, WA. My wife Jacquie and I were married in 1981. We began ministry early on, with a mission internship in Kenya, East Africa the following summer. I took my MA in Bible and Christian Ministries from Cincinnati Bible Seminary, and was shortly after ordained to Christian ministry by Shasta Way Christian Church in Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1990.
In 1992, we joined a team of missionaries with Team Expansion in Guayaquil, Ecuador. We spent most of the 90s learning the Ecuadorian culture, making friendships, and establishing trust with people in our neighborhood. When we returned to the States in 1999, the Lord blessed us with 15 years of youth/associate ministry with Milwaukie Christian Church, in Milwaukie Oregon.
In 2015, God’s sovereign goodness allowed me to join in ministry with GracePoint Christian Church. May God’s kindness, power and majesty continue in the vision of His people in Vancouver!!
